BLACK Activated Charcoal Soap for Problem Skin

I was inspired to make this after seeing people I love struggle with skin problems.

Black is a handmade 100% natural soap which I made specifically to benefit acne and problem/ oily skin. After much deliberation and research I was prompted to use activated charcoal and witch hazel as my base. Both are deep cleansing and help to eliminate excess oils while the gritty nature of the charcoal is also a very gentle exfoliant. The astringent properties of both can aid in reduction of pore size.

The oils in my soap base are light oils or what I call "non claggy", such as grapeseed, sunflower and rice bran oil. Neem oil is also in there as it is a superhero when it comes to skin problems. These oils nourish the skin but don't clog pores as some heavier oils can.

Then we come to the essential oils chosen. Peppermint acts as a cleanser and a decongestant for the skin. Peppermint oil exhibits three key properties beneficial in the topical treatment of acne. It cools the skin, inhibits bacterial growth and reduces testosterone 5 ALPHA-reductase production. Excess oil or sebum production decreases and as less oil is trapped the skin surface improves.

Clary Sage essential oil contains linalyl acetate, a vital ester that works to minimize skin inflammation and helps to treat acne naturally. Clary sage is especially useful in controlling oil production by the skin, a process that contributes to the formation of acne breakouts. Additionally, clary sage essential oil acts as a stress reliever and helps to restore hormonal balance.

As stress and anxiety can be contributing factors to skin breakouts the aromatherapy values of Black also contribute to keeping skin and mind calm.

This gentle soap overflows with beneficial ingredients. So if you are troubled with problem skin then give Black a try....I think you will find it healing.
